Sergison Bates Architects


Sergison Bates Architects was started by Jonathan Sergison and Stephen Bates in 1996. The London based practice rose to fame with their award winning public house in Walsall. They have since then expanded their portfolio which includes designed residential houses, offices, schools and urban masterplans in various locations including Dublin, London, Malmo, Puglia, Antwerp and Geneva. The practice received the Erich Schelling Medal for Architecture and the Heinrich Tessenow Gold Medal in Architecture in 2006. Their projects are rooted by their analysis of the location which responds and maximises the potential of the site with the careful selection of materials. The solutions also responds carefully to the social, environmental and economic aspects of sustainability.
