Getting the money for your first development can be tricky as no-one wants to lend to developers without the track record – but how do you get the track record without the finance? In this 2 hour class we examine all the different routes to increase your chances of obtaining funding.
3) How to do a development appraisal
This very practical and hands on 2 hour session will walk you through how to assess a development opportunity and run the numbers before committing to a project. A real-life practical session will cover appraisals and how to do them. You will be given an appraisal at the end of the class for you to use.
Buying a site without planning can have its rewards in terms of price, but can be risky if you are not familiar with what is and what is not going to be possible. Hear from the experts in this 2 hour session on the steps needed and tips and tricks to mitigate that risk and increase your chances of getting planning.
In this 2 hour session we will do a deep dive into the best legal structures for your development. What contract should you use with your partners, your investors, your contractors and what are the key legal things to spot when buying land?
6) Due Diligence
So you’ve found a piece of land or an opportunity – what next? In this 2 hour session we will go into detail about what kind of due diligence you should do to make sure you aren’t buying a lemon.
7) Marketing & Selling
So, you’ve bought some land, you’ve got planning and you’re on site building. You won’t make any money unless you can sell what you’re building. In this 2 hour session we will do a deep dive into marketing and selling. When should you start? How do you decide what your homes should sell for? How do you communicate to your buyers?
