John Smart Architects
John Smart Architects aim to advance the relationship between the art of design and the construction of buildings within a exclusive form of practice. This is equalized between the tasks of the developers, architects and the in house construction team. With such a functional and collaborative structure, this influences the work approach of the practice and aspires to tackle the restrictive and typical or traditional practice of architecture, which is often arbitrated by the dimensions of the daily conditional situations. The triangle encapsulates the roles of the architect, builder and clients whilst kindling the opportunities and the arrival of the 'master builder'. The studio is motivated by experimentation, revitalisation, independence and challenge. John Smart Architects has received the RIBA award for London's best housing for their first major project, DKH, which is a prominent landmark of Dog Kennel Hill in London.
