Georgie Wolton was one of the founders of the architectural practice Team 4. The team consisted of well known architects like Richard Rogers, Norman Foster and Wolton's sister, Wendy Cheesman (also known as the wife of Norman Foster). Wolton studied at the Architectural Association, school of Architecture. As a frequent traveller, she was exposed to great architectural masterpieces like Eames House, Philip Johnson's Glass House and Mies van der Rohe's Farnsworth House. Based on her experience and exposure to great architecture, she designed a studio building for artist in Camden and a house in Surrey. The house was the first residential property in the United Kingdom to utilise CorTen steel as the main structural material.
